Baisha Bay

This three-part mixed-media sculpture series centers on Taiwanese paper as both a structural and expressive material. Each sculpture is formed through an intuitive, hands-on process: tearing, soaking, layering, pressing, and reshaping until the materials begin to dictate their own trajectories. These gestures generate bodies that feel as though they’ve grown rather than been constructed. As viewers move around them, the shifting shadow and form echoes the subtle internal adjustments made when learning to belong to someplace new.
